Composed of 8 scientists, 3 engineers, 1 technician and 7 PhD students, the virology group develops basic and applied researches on major viral diseases of farm animals affecting developing countries and threatening Europe: peste des petits ruminants, Rift Valley fever, African swine fever and Newcastle disease. Classical and molecular virology, virus evolution, molecular epidemiology, animal experiments are among disciplines used to achieve the improvement of control tools (diagnostics, vaccines and antivirals).
