INIA is a Public Research Organization to support Research, Development and Innovation activities in closed collaboration with the relevant socioeconomic sectors. It consist of three Centers and six departments, including Biotechnology, Animal Reproduction, Animal Breeding and Environment. The Centre for Research on Animal Health (CISA) is a large scale facility BSL3/BSL4 (OIE), and in charge of the European Union Reference Laboratory for African swine fever and for the Reference Centre for FAO in the matters of African swine fever and Biosafety.
