The Seventh U.S. BVDV Symposium which will be held immediately following the Conference of Research Workers in Animal Diseases (CRWAD) in Chicago, IL from December 6-7, 2016.
The theme of this year’s Symposium is "Evolution and Ecology of BVDV: Implications for Health and Control". The Symposium is organized across six thematic sessions, including 1) BVDV molecular biology, 2) Emerging pestiviruses: detection, host range, and taxonomy, 3) BVDV ecology and transmission, 4) BVDV pathology and pathogenesis, 5) BVDV diagnostics, and 6) Principles of BVDV control. Each thematic session will feature an invited presentation by scientists working with BVDV/pestiviruses, followed by multiple research abstracts highlighting timely and cutting-edge research being performed within each theme. Ample time for discussion will be available for the audience and the speakers.
The Seventh BVDV Symposium will be held on Tuesday-Wednesday, December 6-7, 2016 at the Chicago Marriott Downtown immediately following the conclusion of the Conference for Research Workers in Animal Diseases (CRWAD). This Symposium is being convened 20 years after the First U.S. BVDV Symposium held at Cornell University in 1996. Registration for the Symposium can be done at CRWAD.org. Pre-Registration will close November 11, 2016.
The organizing committee is soliciting abstracts for the Symposium. Author instructions can be found at CRWAD.org., and abstracts can be submitted through CRWAD OASIS (On-Line Abstract Submission Site). The deadline for abstract submission is September 9, 2016
